This pie dough recipe makes 2 single crusts or 1 double crust. Homemade pies are irresistible and very delicious. I’ve never liked a store-bought pie. I like to make mine from scratch. The taste and texture of a homemade, all-butter pie crust can’t be beat and knowing what went into your pie dough, is worth it.
It doesn’t get any easier than this and you already have everything you need to make homemade pie dough. The butter should be chilled straight out of the fridge so you don’t have to plan ahead to make pie dough.

How to Make Homemade Pie Crust
This Easy Homemade pie crust is my absolute favorite pie crust. It works EVERY time and produces flaky, buttery pie crust. I,ve been using this recipe to make my fruit pies, chicken pie. You saw that it is only 4 ingredients: butter, water, flour, and salt. You can use a few different kinds of fats for pie crust, the most popular being butter, shortening ( Crisco), or lard. I love butter ( who doesn’t ?), I find that the taste of an all butter pie crust is so much better than with other fat.
1. First measure the flour correctly. I recommend you to use a scale to be precisely.
2. In a food processor, pulse together flour, sugar and salt.
3. Next add COLD diced butter and pulse until you have a coarse crumbs and some pea-sized pieces is formed.
4. Add 6 TbspICE-WATER and pulse just until moist clumps/ small balls of dough is formed. “Do not add too much water or it will be sticky and difficult to roll”
5. Pinch a piece of dough between your fingers and if it sticks together, it’s done. If not add more ice water 1 tsp at a time.
6. Transfer dough to a clean work surface, and gather together into a ball. Don’t need to knead the dough – it should not be smooth.
7. Divide dough in half and flatten into 2 disks. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate 1 hour before using.
